Sita Narayanan is the Head of Environment and Sustainable Development at Guadeloupe Port Caraïbes (Guadeloupe Port Authority), a government-owned corporation that manages port facilities and maritime access of ports located in its territory. She has held this post since 2007.
An environmental engineer, Sita Narayanan directs Guadeloupe Port Caraïbes’ environmental studies, such as ecological evaluations of flora, fauna, and terrestrial and marine habitats. She also directs quality of life studies on air quality, noise levels and landscape. These studies constitute the basis for regulatory reporting.
Sita Narayanan also drafts and implements environmental policies and initiatives accompanying port development.
Sita Narayanan executes Guadeloupe Port Caraïbes’ Natural Areas Management Plan according to its integrated sustainable development strategy. The objective of this long-term action plan is to preserve environmental capital and promote biological diversity while supporting and managing use, and developing sustainable economic opportunities.
